Designed to help little learners feel each jump as they explore early addition and subtraction, our Tactile Number Line turns an abstract maths concept into something children can physically move through.

The continuous tracing path allows children to begin at any number, then use their finger or one of the included character counters to move forwards or backwards — feeling each individual jump along the way.

This resource began with an idea shared by a member of the Kindrli community — a more hands-on way for children to use a number line. From there, I used my early childhood teaching experience to design and refine a tactile pathway that helps children slow down, move one number at a time and physically connect each movement with what is happening mathematically.

Each Kindrli Tactile Number Line™

includes three interchangeable character counters — a kangaroo, frog and car — giving children another playful way to move along the path.

Materials & Production

Our learning resources are crafted from PLA, a plant-based bioplastic made from renewable resources like corn starch and sugarcane. We 3D print each piece in-house using premium-grade PLA for strength, lightweight comfort, and safe play.

Because every item is made-to-order, you may notice subtle layer lines or minor surface variations—these are natural to the 3D printing process and don't impact durability or function. Colour shades can also vary slightly between batches, adding to the handmade character of each resource.

PLA is not fully water-resistant and may absorb colour from dyed liquids or sensory materials. Dropping or throwing may cause damage.
